With the Kleos shorts, we're introduced to a new cut from 93 Brand. The legs are a bit shorter than their previous trunks, the Citizens, in an effort to deliver greater mobility and range of motion. Side vents are still there with reinforced round piping, but they too have been shortened so you won't have to worry about your shorts falling upward while in the closed guard, etc. Like the popular Citizen 2.0, the Kleos shorts are built from smooth polyester fabric with detailed sublimation graphics. The original artwork is inspired by ancient Greek mythology, using terracotta and black graphics that are reminiscent of old clay artwork. Each leg features a hand-drawn circular graphic, in opposite colorways, depicting the lion that was famously slain by Herecleos aka Kleos.
The entire inseam/crotch panel is one continuous piece of stretch lycra which, in addition to the split outseams and shortened length, maximizes the range of motion and flexibility for your legs and hips. If you've got high kicks or fancy guards in your arsenal, the value of this sort of flexibility cannot be overstated. The shortened legs also give the Kleos shorts a more modern, fitted look.
If you've ever had a big bulky waist closure digging into your belly, then I don't have to tell you why 93 Brand's slim-design system is so ideal for combat sports. To ensure the slim-design maintains a secure hold once it's fastened, the horizontal strap covers extra surface, and doesn't ride up above the waist.
For a more accommodating fit, the rear portion of the waistband is elasticated. Adjusted and fine-tuned by an internal drawstring.
