Rank Belts

One thing every school owner needs in strong supply is rank belts. Nothing ruins a promotion ceremony faster than not having the right belt on hand.

These quality student belts come in a wide variety of colors and can be used in karate, tae kwon do, as well as other martial arts. Each belt is 1 3/4" wide with seven lines of stitching (included sewn ends). Each belt provides appropriate thickness in order to balance durability with easy tying.

You get what you pay for

I have been issuing these belts for about a year now. They are fine for the lower ranks where the student won't be in them long (yellow, orange, maybe green) but they are not durable. Several students have ragtag looking belts that have come unsewn on the ends and started to unravel. The outer layer of fabric is very thin. These are not high quality rank belts like Mizuno or Adidas, or even Tiger Claw.
Get something better for your browns and black belts. These will be junk before they;re done with them.

I know Black Belts's who intentionally cut/rough up/and "age" their belts. These sound ideal for them

I appreciate Zengu products but really wish that the belt sizes were complete. It seems that those I need are not in stock. The quality and price are excellent for our dojo.

    Are these no longer available?

Are these belts no longer available? I have been purchasing these belts for the last 4 years. I now see that they are currently not available.

    Will they be restocked soon?

One thing I appreciate about these-the colors are consistent. Other brands, some yellow belts are almost orange.

    Good Belts, Low Price

These are good belts and they are very affordable, but they are not great belts. I agree with the previous review by Pete G: you get what you pay for, and these belts work well for younger students and lower ranks. However, these belts fit very long. I checked the size chart, and I ordered the correct sizes according to the chart. Five out of five belts hang down to the students' knees. For a yellow belt who will probably get an orange belt in a few months, I see no reason to spend $20 or more on a belt, and these belts work just fine.

    Good luck with these belts!

We've had good luck with these belts! My students are usually in their belts for 3-6 months, and they have held up well!

Is this a single or double wrap belt?
    by: Jerry Buffa

These are designed to be double wrap (Standard). If you need single wrap you could order a smaller size intentionally.

This is a popular item that we like to keep restocked as much as possible. As such we are aiming to get fresh stock within a month.

    sizing

are these belts the same size as other BJJ belts... Fuji, Gameness etc. or do they run smaller?

Sizing karate style belts works a bit different. Consult this chart to make sure you get the right fit:

    size-inches-cm
    00---72"---180
    0---74.8"---187
    1---84.4"---221
    2---90.4"---226
    3---98.6"---246.5
    4---105.2"---263
    5---114"---285
    6---122.3"---306
    7---131.4"---328.5

Just my input on this matter as a BJJ instructor for those interested in using these belts: the Tatami A3 BJJ white belts measure about 119 inches brand new. As I use the green belts in my adult BJJ belt system I am finding that the size 3 and size 4 Macho belts fit the average adult student pretty well. In BJJ the belts are thicker and should be worn down low on the hips/butt. If the belt is still too big have them wash and dry it. For kids you probably won't go much bigger than a size 2, with 00 thru 1 being the more common sizes you'll use. -oss

    Great for the price!

Seriously good quality for the price. I was actually surprised when I saw the belt for the first time. I was expecting lesser quality. I will definitely be ordering these belts for all my students.

    Double wrap?

Are these double wrap belts? Or single wrap?
    by: Bill Springer
    1/27/2012 10:43:15 AM
Hey Bill. If you start with the middle of the belt on your midsection, you can wrap both sides to the back and then to the front again.

If you start with one end on your midsection, you can wrap the length of the belt around your body twice.

This is assuming the wearer gets the proper size for their body type.

You have to have a ton of belts floating around the dojo. It's one of those immutable laws of school ownership. These are the right price for ranked belts, and the thickness of the material won't give students a hard time with excessively long break in periods.
