Great Gi for the Money

I have had mine for a few months now. Holds up great and the summerweave feels light and cooler than most. My only issue is the slight shrinkage of the pants and the draw strings but this is common in most light gi. Dont let the pants shrinkage deter you though, Fuji makes an incredible gi for the money. Great first impression!

I took a chance on this gi by ordering sight-unseen and I'm glad I did! My initial impression of this gi is that it is very well made with quality materials. I am 5'10" & 186 so I ordered a size A3. Right out of the package it fit perfectly, so if the description is accurate and it is fully preshrunk material, then I shouldn't have any problems after washing it. I've been involved mainly in Korean karate for the last 25 years and am very familiar with quality karate gis so I wanted to make sure that I got a BJJ gi that was constructed well and would last a long time... I am sure this gi will. Permalink

I wouldnt dry it at all, you can lay this gi on a chair with a fan on it and it will dry completely in a couple hours.

I'm 5'7", 180 lbs. I'm not fat, but have a broad chest and shoulders. I'm assuming the A2 would be the best size for me?

A2 is good for your height, but your weight is an A3 so A2 might be too snug.
Although A3 is intended for someone a bit taller, but it's usually better to go with the bigger of the two sizes.

im 6'2 195 and a4 fits me perfectly( i got long arms and legs too).Its a little bit tight in chest area for me,so guess how tight it will be on you.U should go with a5 myb.Thats just my 2 cents

I'm around 5'7 150lbs. Arms are around 23" long. And about 13" around bicep no flex. Should I get A1 or A2? Sorry for all the stats, I just wanna get the right fit on this one.

I'd say go with the A2. It will give you a little space just in case the uniform shrinks in the wash.

This would be my first BJJ Kimono ... others are judo gi ... the closer cut is making me wonder if I should go up a size. I am 5'8"-9" and 165lbs and typically wear A2. Still go with A2?

I'm 6'0 and 280 lbs. Athletic build but with a bit of a "belly". I've had trouble finding gi's that fit and cover me well. Would you recommend an A5, or an A6?

I think the A5 would be the best choice for you. 6 would work but I think you'd be dealing with a bunch of extra length.

This gi is awesome. I've been using the Fuji Victory gi for years. Aside from the normal wear and tear on the lapel, which is normal after several years of use, that gi has never good to me. So I decided to give the Fuji summer gi a try and it fully met expectations. Very light weight, very durable, the fit is great, and it's comfortable to roll in. I'd recommend to this gi to anyone on a budget or not. You can't go wrong with this gi.

Love this gi, I'm 6'0 230 and got an A4. Fit is spot on. Washed a few times in warm water and dried on hot. Shrank just enough to make it perfect.

Long for the size

Fits fine around me, but the length of the sleeves and the pant legs are too long. I'm 260lbs, 5'9, stocky build. A6 fit fine for some other brands, but I had to hem this one a few inches to fit.

Light weight and well built. Thus far doesn't show staining issues with other, even more expensive gi's. I train 4-5 days a week in South Mississippi in a non airconditioned facility. Sweating is a given. Gi is holding up better than any other I have owned.

You should be good with an A3 as well, just be mindful to do cold wash / hang dry so it doesn't shrink up on you.
