The single weave, 100% cotton construction is extremely comfortable and durable, built to withstand the normal rigors of grappling training. As such, this gi can be used for judo, jujitsu, aikido and any other similar art. The cut is based off of judo design with it's generous space and lack of tie straps.

Received product very early, so big Plus on the free shipping!!! The Fuji Judo Gi is used for Aikido, and holds up really well for the grabs and throws that we do. I'm 6"0 140lbs and found the pants are a bit big width wise, but the drawstring does the job to shrink that up. They are long enough for me without tripping over them in class, I got a size 5. I will say this, if your dojo doesn't have AC, you will become very warm, very quickly! I did wash the uniform in HOT water 2 times, while drying on regular heat in the dryer, and the shrinking was somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2 inch on the top and bottom (this helped with the top and bottom being too long) Permalink

I am 195 lbs and 5'7" would you recommend a 5 or 4 in this gi.... Thanks any help would be appreciated. I don't want it to baggy but also not to snug either

a 4 would definitely be the best fit, but you might express a little tightness around the waist area. A 5 would be comfortable but also perhaps a little long in the sleeve and pant legs.

I recommend going with a 4, and if it just isn't comfortable, exchange it with us for a 5.

Sizing

I'm 5'8 about 220lbs and have a 42/44 inch waist
What size should I get to allow shrinkage if I plan to wash and then dry in a dryer

I think a 5 is your best bet for fit. I don't think the washing will shrink you out of range.

I would recommend going with the size 6. If it's a touch too big you can do strategic shrinking in the wash.

Yea that's always the tricky part about buying for young children. How quickly will their growth spurt hit?

Size 1's should be back in stock in the near future, which may be your best bet.

I think a size 7 would be form fitting, although there would be no room for shrinking (so you'd have to be careful with the wash).

Size 8 would be a safer play.

You'll want the size 7. you'll have to cuff the sleeves and pant legs, or hem them, in order to accommodate height.

I think a size 5 would be best, but be careful not to shrink it. You're right at the top edge of a 5.

Sizing question

I'm 6'03 190lbs. I prefer a slightly smaller fit than the normal judo size because I plan to also use this gi for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training. Would a size 6 be ok, or should I go with a 5? Permalink

The size 5 would be a good snug fit, although you would lose an inch or two off the cuffs and pant legs. I'm not sure if that would bother you or not.

Size?

Well I'm a pretty big dude, I'm like 6ft. roughly 280 lbs. solid though. Roughly 54 inch chest, wear 42 pants on hips...... Which size would be appropriate? Permalink

I believe a size 6 would be very comfortable for you. If it's perfect out of the package, that's good. If not, use light washing and drying to shrink it to size (Careful not to over shrink!).

Just what we wanted

I purchased this as a gift for my daughter who is about 5'2" or 5'3" and 120 pounds. She was very pleased with both the fit and the feel. After reading your other reviews I will be sure to recommend that she wash it in cold water and hang it to dry since it is 100% cotton and would likely shrink. Permalink

I am 5'9 and weigh about 140. I tried a new Fuji judo gi size 2, and it was too short. They also had a size 2.5 that fit much better (same brand), but I do not see this size online. What's up with that? Permalink

shrinking

I am about 5 foot tall and weight about 140 I have heard that many gi's will shrink when you first wash them...Is this one that will shrink? In the atama gi I am a size A2..( i tried on a friends atama gi but no way i can afford that :) .What would you say would compare to this size? I am a girl with large chest area and after buying 3 Judo gi's I end up with an open chest or arms that are too long... I am hesitant to buy another gi and it not fit right. So any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciate it. I would be using this gi for BJJ and Aikido.

Maybee if you can provide measurements from the armpit to the front lapel on both sides I can see if it will cover. Perhaps on your size 3 and 4... ? Permalink

Hi Mary. you're looking at 100% cotton with this gi so it is subject to shrinking. To avoid that, I recommend washing in cold/warm water and letting it hang dry.

As for the size, I think a 2 would be pretty good here.
