I like these jackets for uniform wear and for costume wear as well... I bought a few for my daughter, my friend, and two of her nieces. The jackets are thin enough to be comfortable for a beginning student, while being durable enough for practice wear.   

These jackets seemed to run a lil' small, (and so did the belt... weirdly). I did not try the pants initially, but they fit when I reordered them, and that is a shipping price regret that I can live with. I recommend to all karatekas, judokas, etc, try on at least one ENTIRE uniform before returning... I am 6'6" and 360 lbs, I fit a xl sweatpants, but a 3x shirt. The pants run long, but they fit excellent.  

I purchased the lightweight student's karate set on sale for a costume investment (and a lifelong dream of pursuing martial arts should I ever get to partake of it). I was a little nervous buying online without having a physical specimen to try on, but my research paid off and I love this set. I only wore the jacket sans matching pants as part of a Batman-Begins-inspired ninja outfit for our TDKRises film premiere at work, and it was so comfortable and I got great compliments. I was worried I'd be too hot with all the layering, but I was pleasantly surprised how comfortable I was given I'd never worn something like this before. I'm so stoked just to be able to wear this around the house even as a housecoat or if I feel like pretending I'm a ninja.  

An excellent light weight jacket. I wear this jacket outside in the hot weather. I am very happy with all of the KD uniform products I have purchased and would recommend them to anyone.
