My sparring partner and I order two of these helmets last month, with the understanding that we would be "light sparring" in them. He is an amateur boxer with 14 fights on his record, and throws pretty hard even in sparring, so I was a little reluctant to go full contact but with the cage and half-speed I figured we'd be ok. The helmets arrived in perfect condition and we sparred very lightly at first, pulling our punches once we made contact with the cage. No problems at all with the helmets. The second and third sessions we went harder, and still no problems at all with the helemts. By the fourth session, we were going full speed and the headgear was PHENOMENAL. We've been sparring hard for about a month now and I could not be happier with our purchase. THANK YOU.  

I ordered this headgear after trying 3 different styles. First, head only with no face shield (obviously not good enough). Second, clear face shield with small nose and mouth opening (I'm claustrophobic and did NOT like seeing my breath on the shield), headgear with face shield that resembled a catcher's mask (helped with breathing, but there were large "blind spots" due to the bars on the mask. Then I saw this headgear, and for the price, thought I'd give it a shot. BINGO! No weird, trapped feeling, and the bars on the cage are small enough that there are no blind spots. Lots of padding too. Think I finally found it! And great service on top. Easy web site to navigate, easy order process, and received my shipment about 3 days before the estimated delivery time. Karate Depot has EARNED my business.  

Training in the cage as a coach like me, is great, especially when you are using this product. I am the trainer for many fighters including Georgi Karakhanyan. Being in this headgear is just amazing.  

This headgear is better than I expected and you can't beat the price. Comfortable and nicely padded. Great for my women's class as the women don't like the idea of getting their face punched. Also great for anyone who is learning how to spar.

I popped my eye and severely tore my retina. After 4 eye surgeries the eye surgeon told me I would never fight or even spar again. Thanks to this headgear, I am back to sparring again without any concern about contact to my eye. Well made heavy duty protection! Fantastic Headgear from a Fantastic Seller. This headgear is certainly a load, and there are other choices that provide breezier, lighter choices. However, when it comes to straight up protection, this is a top choice. The quality of the cage and headgear is very high and the padding is thick. This brand can be trusted to take a beating.  

This headgear is well constucted, but like all steel cage heargear, it is just too heavy.I prefer the plastic cage headgear. they offer better visibility and a lighter weight.
