Hey Josh. I would select a 6' nontapered bo and cut it down to 5'6" in length.

Hi Kristian. I'm going to assume you are just starting out with the bo (let me know if I'm wrong). A bo that is a good balance between easy-to-use and durable would be this one:

Bo selection
He is incorrect and gives me the impression that he doesn't study at a traditional Okinawan weapons school, where the use of the bo originated. Therefore, he doesn't know the needs of another practitioner. Buy your stuff here but try the link below:

Hey Joel! Nishiuichi is fantastic - I think everyone who stumbles onto my video here should also watch the video you suggest.
