One of the most difficult parts of heavy bag training is trying to find a sturdy place to hang the thing. This steel constructed stand can be put anywhere and can be trusted to handle bags up to 100 lbs. In addition, the reverse side offers a high quality speed bag platform to enhance the timing and rhythm of your striking.

The height of the speed bag platform is adjustable to accommodate most adults and even some children. The stand''s footprint reads: 69"L x 48.25"W; 84.13" tall.

space needed for use

How much space is neede to use this product?

Howdy mom. The footprint for this item is 69"L x 48.25"W; 84.13" tall. Keeping that in mind, you'll probably want an extra 3 feet or so around the unit so you can use both sides comfortably and accommodate for heavy bag swing.

Height issue

I'm looking into getting a bag and stand for my son. He's almost 6 foot and about 170 lbs. What would be a good starter for him and what height should the stand be?

Hi Birdy. He's pretty big, but also a beginner, so I recommend this 80lb bag - bx-hv-850. He might also need a decent pair of gloves to make sure he doesn't hurt his knuckles or joints. This pair in large might be a good choice: /bx-gl-1305.

The stand on this page would work great, as would this one: bx-hv-841 if you don't predict you'll need the speed bag area. When it comes to height, try to line the logo of the heavy bag up with his eye level. Anything in that ballpark will work just fine.

easy assembly/disassembly?

Hey I was just wondering, I dont think the stand could fit through my front door or even my basement door. Now in the description it says easy assembly and disassembly. Is that only referring to the assembly of the speed bag stand or is the heavy bag stand also possible to assemble and disassemble?

Hey Alexis. This unit will come to you disassembled in a box. The pieces all come together fairly easily so you should be able to build and unbuild as you need.

Ground Noise

Maybe an odd question. I currently have a Powercore (one with a weighted base and no need to hang a bag). It works pretty good but being in an apartment the noise it generates through the ground is too much and it gets little use. I was thinking about getting a standard bag and a stand but I'm uncertain if I might run into this same issue of lots of noise being generated through the floor when striking the bag whether it be punches or kicks. Any ideas guys?

Hi G. I've dealt with this issue too, using a freestanding bag in a non-first-floor apartment. The hanging bag stand you see here will also rumble around a bit when hit as the power inevitably transfers from the bag, through the chains, and into the unit. That being said, there is probably more local noise from the chains rattling than there is transferred noise through the ground.

One possible solution for both freestanding bags and this unit is to place it on some thick rubber padding. The rubber tends to absorb the shifting and thumping better.

You'll want free weights with holes in the center. Plastic coated ones tend to make less noise than pure metal.

How much weight

I just got my stand and 80 lb bag. How much weight would you recommend putting on each the three pegs so the stand does not move at all?

Hmm, I can't think of a specific number off hand for you. I would start with 30-40 pounds on each peg and go from there.

Outer Coating

Hi,
I recently ordered this stand and I am wondering how it would do outdoors. I would like to use this outdoors during the warm months but I am concerned about rust. Any knowledge about the metal, its coating and weatherability?

Hi Joe. This metal utilizes a powder coated paint, which does help resist against rusting. However, it's not built to as stringent of outdoor specs as you might see on something like a swingset. You would like have some minor maintenance in your future to sand off rust and repaint, especially around the bolts.

Thanks! I received the stand yesterday and after some thought, I think I will stitch 2 tarps together on 3 sides like a big sleeve that'll slide over the whole structure. Perhaps I'll even add a zipper or velcro strip for ease of on/off.

Most likely not low enough for a six year old, when I was that young though, my dad set up something for me to stand on. It made me feel like one of the big guys and I was able to learn early the rhythm for the speed bag.

Repair Help

I bought this stand awhile back and for the most part I am satisfied with it. I did have to go through an ordeal of weighing it down so it wouldn't slide (350 lbs of sand bags), but that wasn't that big of a headache.

My question is for anyone really and that is what is the best way to fasten your bag to this stand? Recently, the bottom strap of my heavy bag tore from the friction of the cord rubbing against it. So now I need to figure out how to fix that and how to prevent it from happening again. If anyone could offer any advice on not only, how to fix my heavy bag, but also on how to best secure it to this stand,I would greatly appreciate it. I am still an amateur to the sport.

speed bag swivel

I want to use the speed bag portion, but can't tell what kind of mount this has. Do I need a speed bag swivel with this stand? Will the speed bag swivels you sell be mountable on this stand? (Are there any speed bag and swivel combos you sell that won't work with this stand?)

Hi Brent. Yes, a speed bag swivel is included (Although a speed bag is not). Most kinds of swivels are mountable since it's a fairly basic wooden platform.

It's Great!!

It's awesome, I got it a few days ago, the packaging was rough, but no matter. Although the stand had a few scratches, It works perfectly fine. I read the review below me, It took me about 30 mins to assemble the whole thing, so it all depends on the individual as to how long it takes assemble.
It comes with all the tools and hardware to assemble it, and the instructions are fairly easy to read.
I strongly recommend this one, it's a great buy. It's pretty big tho, I thought It's be smaller. Either way, It's a great product for a great price!!!

Must have stand

This is an amazing stand for heavy bags under 100lbs, i use 80lbs. Its very easy to assemble but it takes a while like about 2-4 hours. Its good for speed bags as well but the best thing to do is put heavy weights on the bottom of the stands for no movement and full force punching.

bolted

Do you have to bolt or steak this stand down or will the wide base of it survive a Light Heavyweight/Cruiser weight pounding on a 100lb bag for a while. I am putting together a moble home gym and am like this stand other wise.

Hey dred. An important aspect of this stand is the pegs you see on the bottom. You can add very heavy free weights to it which provides a stable base even during high intensity workouts.

With the right weight added, I believe you won't need to bolt it down.
