Standard Judo Gi
6 reviews
This item is not currently available for purchase.
  • Single weave construction
  • Soft bleach white
  • Judo construction and sizing
  • Suitable for most grapple arts
  • Includes jacket, pants, and white belt (no color substitutions)

Appropriate for instructors during high heat training, as well as students looking to acquire a gi above normal "starter" quality.

The single weave, 100% cotton construction is extremely comfortable and durable, built to withstand the normal rigors of grappling training. As such, this gi can be used for judo, jujitsu, aikido and any other similar art. The cut is based off of judo design with it's generous space and lack of tie straps.

I use this as a base gi for my BJJ students. It is cheaper than the Standard BJJ gi, and there is very little difference between the two. The only difference I can tell is that one is a Judo cut vs BJJ cut.

Size 7

I have a new student that is 340lbs roughly. Will this fit?
by: Suay
12/22/2016 2:40:24 PM
Hi Suay. That depends a bit on where they carry the weight. If they are tall as well as heavy then the size 8 should be fine because the weight is distributed throughout the body. If all the weight lands around the midsection, it might be less of a fit.

Traditional Aikdo?

Can this gi be used in Aikido?
by: Kevin Clark
9/1/2016 8:12:37 PM
Hi Kevin. Yes, this uniform could withstand typical aikido training. It also has no adornments, which is appropriate for traditional aikido. If you wanted to play it safe, you could check with your instructor, but I doubt he/she would have a problem.

Terrific Gi, very Functional

I use this uniform as a typical standard. It looks sharp, it typically fits any student at their current size with minimal customization on length. It works great in the dojo and handles wear and tear very well. I do have to add a word of caution here. Do not try to lump gi uniforms into the laundry with other types of clothes. It may damage the other clothes. Or the jacket may tangle up and ride one part of the dryer and get burn/singe marks on it from the friction. (this negative is no reflect of the quality of the gi!) The $$$ is great also.

A great gi all around

We use these as the standard gi at our school and they have been great. Generously sized, you do not need to order up. Shrinkage is minimal. Embroidered FUJI patch is cool, but do not bleach jacket or the black embroidery will turn brown. I highly recommend this gi as an affordable, good quality school gi.

HOW MUCH BIGGER IS A JUDO GI SIZE 8 , THEN A BJJ GI A6 ?

by: DAVID
3/23/2014 8:23:10 AM
Hi David. That can depend on the brands. I recommend using each pages sizing chart to get a good fit.

Sizing and shrinking

Fuji BJJ gi's shrink one full size...will these do the same and should I order a size above?

Also, when do you anticipate getting size #4's in?
by: Mark Rios
8/23/2012 2:41:43 PM
Yes, predict the same kind of shrinking in these gi.

Not sure on the restock, but I sent an email out to our dept to find out.

BBJ Gi

Could I use this Gi as a starter gi for my jiu jitsu school?
by: Mark
7/18/2012 4:19:41 PM
Yes this would be a good choice for starter gis. The single weave and construction is considered 'standard' for the art.

Hi Camila. Right below the name of the product ("Standard Judo Gi") you'll see a link for a sizing chart. That should compare each size to your height and weight.

Horrible Service

I ordered two of these two months ago. I finally got one in the mail last week. Still missing the other one. Would be nice if Zengu actually contacted me to let me know why. Would love my money back, but doubt it'll happen.

Hmm, it sounds like we got caught in a backorder situation with the manufacturer. We're usually very good about staying well ahead of things like that, not even offering sizes if we think there will be issues with delivering on time.

This one seems to be our bad and we'd like to make it up to you. Please reach out to csupport@zengu.com. Include your order # and describe the situation and we'll take it from there.
