Just a good solid pair of handwraps. The right length and material at a very affordable price point. Nothing fancy here, but that's not really what you want anyway if you need to stock your gym with equipment that suits the general needs of athletes in attendance.

Amateur Competition Boxing Gloves



A lot of gyms want equipment around that is competition approved - these gloves meet that specification. They are amateur style and can be used during real bouts, so it's a good idea to have your fighters train with them too.

The price and quality make these a great choice to have around the gym. Although I like having my own pair, a lot of people find a need to borrow gloves when they come to workout. These are a good all-around choice for that kind of stock.

Wavemaster XXL



Wavemaster XXL may be the best freestanding bag I've used. The striking surface allows for a ton of technique development, and the whole thing has weight and substance that keeps it from flopping around the dojo floor. With 2 or 3 of these you can come up with virtually unlimited training ideas.

Square Hand Target



These little doozies are almost a must-have in the dojo. Who knows when you are going to need to break them out. I have a bunch and they last a really long time. Having multiple different colors keeps it fun for younger students too.

Tapered Hardwood Bo



This is a good all-around bo. A lot of students enjoy the tapering because it tends to be a little easier on the body. Also spin techniques tend to come a little easier. The price is great, so if you snap it you can stock 10 more.

Black Traditional Nunchaku



These nunchaku are the go-to set for people trying to get involved with the weapon. A lot of traditional stylists will use these throughout their career. I own 2 pair and find them to be very reliable. I've always enjoyed the feel of string over chain, but that's just a personal preference.

White Wax Wood Escrima



The white wax wood seems perfectly suited to the length and durability needs of escrima. I've beat on my set pretty hard and they still look great. Some people like putting wraps on theirs so as to avoid hand slippage. I haven't done so, but it's a decent idea.

Deluxe White Oak Bokken



Of all the different woods that bokken can be made out of, white oak seems to be the right combination of low price and high quality. The durability lasts and the wood tends to resist excessive splintering. Of course, it can be broken...but at this price point that's not a problem. Breaking your $300 exotic wood bokken in the same amount of time is much more heart wrenching.

Steel Kama



Surprisingly good quality for the price. Although the metal wouldn't tolerate much hard abuse, the construction and design has a very traditional feel to it and performs well during kata and light bunkai. Again, for the price you could beat them up and just get another pair.

Rank Belts



You have to have a ton of belts floating around the dojo. It's one of those immutable laws of school ownership. These are the right price for ranked belts, and the thickness of the material won't give students a hard time with excessively long break in periods.

Discipline Martial Arts Shoes



This is perhaps the best dojo shoe you'll find. It behaves a lot like a sneaker but hugs the foot with added padding so as to protect you during kicking. The sole will grip on mats more than barefoot, but it won't leave any scuff marks.

Deluxe Ninja Costume



Ninjutsu practitioners find this kit to be exactly what they were hoping for. Having worn this uniform myself I can say that it is extremely comfortable and the sizes accommodate a lot of different body types. The bokken is definitely demo only, but the rest is reliable.

Elite Judo Uniform



Behaves like a gi that is double the price. The quality and construction of the gi are outstanding, and can take abuse from even the most rigorous judoka. If you need a good gi but can't justify blowing a couple hundred dollars, this is the right choice.

Elite Heavyweight Karate Uniform



This is the gi I use on a weekly basis and it has performed very well. It has the look and feel of much more expensive gi like shureido and tokaido without the hefty price tag. Great weight and feel to it.

Warrior Kick



A very good choice for foot gear. The most notable thing about the warrior kicks is the added protection on the instep. Styles with a lot of kicking, such as TKD, generally find that padding to be valuable.

Warrior Head Gear

Macho Beginner Gi - Kids & Adults

I think I have to perfect options for you. Check out this gi by Macho: un-md-12, and this one by Fuji: un-st-859. These both have all the sizes you would want, and slightly different weights depending on what you like.

Now this gi is cheaper: un-st-10, but doesn't have all the sizes so what you might do is stock up on this gi and use the other two to fill in the gaps.

Marie - yes you could do that. Just sand the edges a bit after the cuts and you should be fine.

This bo is a nice weight, not too heavy but also not excessively light. It can take moderate contact.

Hi Joe. If you start with the middle of the belt on your midsection, you can wrap both sides to the back and then to the front again.

If you start with one end on your midsection, you can wrap the length of the belt around your body twice.

This is assuming the wearer gets the proper size for their body type.

Hey Bill. If you start with the middle of the belt on your midsection, you can wrap both sides to the back and then to the front again.

If you start with one end on your midsection, you can wrap the length of the belt around your body twice.

This is assuming the wearer gets the proper size for their body type.

Hey Brett - I can't say for certain if your door frames will be fine since I'm not sure just how wimpy they are. That being said - the door gym's stress tends to press inward from both sides on the doorframe rather than hanging from the top frame. Therefore, not a lot of weight is actually on pure hang.

The major difference is in the diameter. The youth bo is a smaller central diameter tapered down to a finer point. This is useful for younger hands that are smaller, but is also a bit more fragile when it comes to contact.

It would be tricky, but not impossible. First you would want to razor cut the foam to the length you desire. Then you would want to cut the internal tube using a saw blade designed for plastic. If you don't have that kind of saw you could go to a local hardware store and secure one or even ask them to cut it for you.

Hi Shin Kai Kan. What you experienced is fairly typical. As the gi sizes increase the length and width increase simultaneously, which means individuals with a little bit of a belly do tend to experience long gi situations in order to accommodate that weight. Size 7 will be shorter but also less accommodating via width. If you decide to try it, I would recommend not washing the 7. Your other primary option is to go with an 8 and have all that length hemmed.

There is cotton in this gi so shrinking will be a factor. I wouldn't say it will shrink a whole size, but if you are in between sizes it might be advisable to go one up and shrink it down.

These are designed to be double wrap (Standard). If you need single wrap you could order a smaller size intentionally.
