If you train Judo, you know it's one tough martial art. And if you train Judo, you know that not any gi will do. You need something that's strong enough to hold up through the stress of throws, chokes, and grip-breaking. This single weave uniform is durable enough for your everyday Judo or Jiu Jitsu training, outfitted with reinforced quilted knees and reinforced stitching throughout all stress points. Rice grain quilting is used across the chest, where your gi is susceptible to a tremendous amount of tugging and pulling, and a diamond pattern is used along the skirt. The diamond pattern provides strength without being too thick or stiff, offering some comfort and allowing your gi jacket to breathe.

This 100% cotton kimono is great for day-to-day training but reliable enough to be used when you test your skills on the tournament mats.

For the KD Elite brand, you can order a mix-and-match uniform set. Please use the first pull-down menu to select a jacket size and the second pull-down menu to select pant size.

This uniform will include a free white belt that matches your jacket size. E.g., if you order a size 2 jacket with size 3 pants, your uniform will include a size 2 white belt.

I have a student who is 6'2" is about 270 so he's got a bit of a belly. We got him 2 of these size 8 thinking that they'll shrink and he could always take it to a seamstress. After washing they did shrink but the jacket barely closes around him but the lower edge almost reaches his knees. Is this normal? Is the size 8 just really long and the size 7 the wide one?

Hi Shin Kai Kan. What you experienced is fairly typical. As the gi sizes increase the length and width increase simultaneously, which means individuals with a little bit of a belly do tend to experience long gi situations in order to accommodate that weight. Size 7 will be shorter but also less accommodating via width. If you decide to try it, I would recommend not washing the 7. Your other primary option is to go with an 8 and have all that length hemmed.

Thre length is not the problem since you pointed out it can be hemmed, the issue is the width in that its disproportionate. The top is exidingly Lang as would be expected for a size 8 but the width is far too narrow, the jacked barely closes around him. I'm not sure this is the original design of the uniform.

I see. This gi is a pretty typical cut and not designed to be particularly slender. As such it might be prudent to bump up to the size 9 found here: un-ju-863.
