sweet MMA bag gloves
these are sweet, I love them excellent wrist support, and hand protection works very well for heavy bag, speed bag, punch mitt and double end bag work as well, don't work so good for grappling or sparring

Thanks for the review - it can be tough finding MMA gloves that also function great for bag work.

not too shabby
This is by no means a bad product but I found that the wrist protector hurts your wrist more than anything. Don't get me wrong it's saved me plenty of times but I only used them for about two months and the leather tore away on the outside, the padding wore down easily, and on the inside of the glove the lacing came apart and tore my knuckles up pretty bad. They are however extremely comfortable and have a grip between the palm witch is great because its bigger than most other gloves and more durable... I also am a very hard hitter and tend to wear things like that down pretty easily. So you make the decision for yourself

Canvas bag gear
Just got my first 70lb canvas heavy bag and I'm wondering what gear I need to train with it. My son (5) and I will both be using it for martial arts training.

Hey Mike - you'll probably want some kind of hand protection. You can find a nice selection of bag gloves here:
http://www.karatedepot.com/baggloves.html
. Other than that, I think all you'll need is a place to hang it. Also, consider grabbing a jump rope - they accent heavy bag training really well and enhance the cardio of the workout.

Two-in-one?
I am a beginner - about 160lbs, looking to buy the basic bag-wrap-gloves setup. Does the wrist support built into these gloves substitute for the wrist wraps? Or do I need to have wraps and gloves on when I hit the bag
Thanks-
Tom M

The wraps on these gloves do act to secure the wrist much like a wrist wrap would. I'd say a full on wrist wrap is a bit more secure, but it's pretty close.
