Big but worth it

me and a friend tried this out today for a few rounds of sparring. We both really liked it.

PROS:
- Snug fit
- Very good padding
- Good facebar fits just below my nose, and protects it
- Very good visibility
CONS:
- this thing is BIG
- Kind of heavy

overall great for the price. I'm probably going to pick up one of my own.

This head gear does it's job. It protects my forehead, cheek bones, jaw, ears, and the back of my head very well. The only problems i have are that the straps on the back do not hold as well as my instructor's head gear, but his is worth $80. Also, not that it really matters, but mine did not come with those symbols on the side.

Everlast doesn't specify regarding this model, but you can be certain the headgear found on this page: bx-hd-26 is amateur approved.

good for comprehensive protection

This headgear, while thicker than a lot of other brands, really protects the head well. The padding wraps around the head and features cheekbone protectors. Everlast has been in the padding business for awhile, and it shows here in how they balance visibility and protection.

Protective and Bulky

If you need for-real protection, this helmet is an excellent choice. It should be noted though that it is quite bulky and almost makes for a bigger target when sparring. Overall a good product though.
