Great Product for Adults
I was afraid to order this for an adult man to use, but I did. I thought it might be light weight and like a toy. He loves it. It was easy to assemble. We put water in the base even though we went to Home Depot and bought the sand. It works great with the water. It is a good way to exercise for anyone. It certainly is not a toy. I am so glad that I found it online. The shipping time was really fast. It's fun and works really well. I recommend it highly.

That's great input. I think there is a little bit of worry with how small the base is that it would fall over. But this bag doesn't take the same force as a free standing heavy bag, so it actually does quite well.

Head Comes off with Light Jabs - Useless
This is poorly made as after about 10 minutes of use the head/bag started coming off, wobbling all over the place. I am barely hitting it, using light jabs and hooks and practicing reflexes and footwork mostly. But it doesn't matter, the head keeps popping off making it useless. I tried gluing it and that lasted one day before coming off. I then tied a bunch of ropes around it to keep it on which lasts about two days before I have to reconfigure the whole thing. It's a good concept but Everlast's quality control really missed the element of ensuring the head stays on.
As a result, this is total garbage, I would return it if I hadn't put glue all over it.

Bag flew off after the second use,the spring being at the base makes this a little slow for my liking...all in all not a very solid product for the everlast name.

I bought this for my husband last month. The bag flew off of the pole on the third day. My husband duct taped it, but it looks horrible on our porch now. I would have hoped that it would not have fallen apart so quickly.

Not Bad
When i got this it was very easy to assemble. Ive had it for a couple of days and work perfectly, even though the reflex and spring isnt quick enough but for the price its not bad, now ive had it for about a month and im editing this review, if your going to buy this theres a 100% chance the top is going to rip off but u need to use gorilla glue or something to put from the inside and put it back on.

Exercise for Parkinson's Disease
I am a strong, active 82 year old woman. People are amazed at what I do with gardening--digging, hauling, etc. I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Someone who has the same condition said that the best exercise for Parkinson's is a punching bag. Obviously I won't be hitting it as hard as a man would. Is this a good idea? Since I won't hit very hard, would it be safe for me? Are boxing gloves necessary?

Great to hear you are still so active Phylgene - you are an example for the rest of us!
First I'd like to state that I have no medical qualifications for recommending exercise. Be sure to consult your physician. Secondly, I think the bag at this link:
tr-bg-770
would be even better for you. A little more resistance and reliability. You won't have to swing quite as wildly at it.
I also do recommend some gloves. Something like these would be a fine choice:
bx-gl-210
, protective, and easy to take on and off.

Not that Bad
I have read a lot of bad reviews on this product. Luckly most of them I read after I ordered it or I would have been put off. My son is a big 10 year old and he has really wailed on this thing. We have had it about a month now. 1st of all, if your a pro, or just a big agressive adult, get a heavy bag or some other speed bag. This thing is made for speed and accuracy, not power!!! Yes, Everlast should have done a little bit better, but I've had no problems. I have used it some as well and its held up ok. I would not advise any type of kicks, or uppercuts.

I have been really wailing on this thing. It is a great training bag seeing as how it comes back twice as hard as you sent it out increasing the punishment. Unfortunatly, my bag is shredding. As far as I can tell, the poll is unlikely to break if it isn't extended all the way to the end. Even then, you can probably prevent the upper section the bag is on from breaking by bracing it on the inside with a narrower piece of pipe. But I would still like to find another bag for my stand.

What a piece of SH$T!
It is great for helping you move, and work on timing. Just don't hit it! I was using light jabs (to make sure not to hyper-extend my elbow), and not hitting it anywhere as hard as the guy in the "How to use.." video. The bag lasted almost 30 minutes. The bag/head was wobbling and coming off/hanging to one side. It's really loose, and I need to duct tape it. EVERLAST SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED. I would pay an extra $30 to have it built right. It could have been an excellent piece of equipment.

Some users have had great success using gorilla glue on the inside where the bag meets the post. It is durable and doesn't affect the usability or visual of the unit.
Another option might be duct tape. It is easier to ultimately take off, but less attractive visually. They do sell black duct tape which might blend in a bit better.

This is not for kids. The reflex bag is actually a pretty advanced training tool. See the video on this page.
