What is the daimeter? I want to make sure it fits in my basement.

Ceiling/Floor Joist

Hi,
A concern I have for using such a joist is twofold:

- Will hanging a joist to the ceiling of a basement compromise the integrity of the house? I am told to put solid rubber between the joist and the wooden beam to absorb shock.

- How loud is it?

Hey Vincent. You'll want to asses the quality of the beam you are about to hang it on. If the beam is thick and well connected to the frame of the house, you should have no troubles. The vibrations from the bag will no be able to disturb the house foundation.

Putting rubber bumpers on is a nice way to dampen those vibrations and lessen noise.

If i purchase the wood joint heavy bag mount what other hardware is needed?

The only other thing you'd need is the chain assembly that comes standard with almost all heavy bags. If you want to reduce the shock impact on your beam, you could also consider getting a shock spring coil - bx-ac-30
