This mouth guard came with a sparring gear set...pretty much a freebie. Can't complain. Yes, it will need to be trimmed down for fit. Botched the first one or two when we first got them, but got the hang of molding them and sizing them. I had to cut them down with some sewing shears (very sharp) to avoid the rough edges. I was able to get the right fit for my once 5 year old and 7 year old. Once they got the hang of how to mold them they worked just fine. These are fine for adults and will still have to be modified, but you may want to pass if sizing for a younger child.  

Picked these up as a set with the headgear, kicks, and mouthguard - great value. We had no issue with the sizing. My husband is still breaking them in, but hasn't had any complaints. They provide sufficient protection for adult class sparring. As usual we wipe down with antibacterial wipes to prevent the bad odors. Wipe after wipe, no cracking or wearing away of color.   

Got these as part of a set for my husband. We spar once a week and they've worked well for about 2 months now. I'm sure they will hold for much longer as we have some others slightly different and they are holding strong. Yes, they are hard to slide on, but I hear baby powder works. Also try going to class in flip flops - I find the kicks are easier to put when your feet haven't been in shoes and socks. Padding provides great protection. I recommend buying in the set.  

We first bought two of these for each of our boys. We then came back for me (Mom). Now we bought one for Dad. We've bought black, metallic blue, and royal blue. All three colors are great. Great protection and the oldest ones are still holding strong with no cracking almost a year later. We wipe them down with antibacterial wipes when finished and air dry to prevent the moldy smell. I like them because I have long hair and I can fit my pony tail out through the back of the helmet. Highly recommended.
