I haven't broke it in all the way, but I am really liking this uniform. the construction is solid, the reinforcing on the stitches are well done for throwing and grappling work. The only negative point I really have is the sizing. I first ordered a 3, but it was too small, so I got a size 4, which after shrinking in a couple of washes, I still wished it could have shrunk a bit more. A size 3.5 would have been really nice.  

These do what they are supposed to do, that being they make striking with the instep, the edge of the foot, and the end of the toes less burdening to your opponent. They don't protect all all against hell or ball of the foot strikes, but what really can, save maybe your opponent's chest guard.
The biggest Problem I have with this is that even now that I have the right size, they make me feel cumbersome, I feel like I can't be as light on my feet with these, standing on the balls of my foot cause the front of the boot to push into the ground i guess...I'm not sure what it is really. I'm ordering some shin and instep cloth guards and I am going to see how those compare to this.
So bottom line is they work great at their price, but they seem to limit movement a bit more than I would prefer.   

A good belt, the stitching on the ends is a nice touch that some other belt makers don't include, and once broken in the belt sits well. Does what it is intended to do, hold one's pants up.
