Ash hardwood treated with walnut stain and linseed oil for a smooth finish. 1-1/4 inch diameter tapered to 7/8 inches at ends. Rounded end to help prevent splitting. Walnut colored.

Certainly Not Bad

This staff was a lot lighter than I expected. But otherwise it seems quite sturdy.

The tapering is just a hair too much IMO. This limits the holding area (depending on where you like it). In truth, I prefer non-tapered. I wish they offered it in non-tapered because the make is pretty good.

Hey Money - this bo is designed for performance and practice. Ash is a light wood and the taper makes it even lighter. However, this bo will not stand up to repeated abuse through hard contact. You could use it for protection, but it is not ideal for that.

Hardwood Fighting Bo Staff

This is an excellent medium-weight staff that is easy to control and durable enough to allow some weight-bearing moves. I Highly recommend it.

I really enjoy it. The third day I had it I used it in my Karate class (I'm a 1st degree black belt) and loved using it. Very nice wood and finish; easy to handle. My teacher liked it too. I would recommend it too others. I rate it 5 stars.
