Good little set of chux. Not the fastest, as the name would imply, but the chux are great for training. Many people don't realize that unless your performing an alternative baton twirling (xma), that your Nunchaku are to gripped at the base for maximum striking force. These chux are great for training in that area. The reduced size exchanges the upper part of the handle for more chain. My only complaint would be that they are a little light for my taste, but I prefer the acrylic or solid aluminum pairs if I'm using chain, so that's just personal preference.
Not a starter pair, but if you've trained to the point that you've already got you first pair of chained and first pair of corded, then I highly recommend.
