Yep, these are real. I would suggest working them a little to toughen them up. However, these are as close to hand made you can get. BUT they aren't coated or heat treated so they will break or bend...if you know what you're doing, you can use them (although I prefer the smaller ones). If you want to make them your main throwers you need to heat and oil treat them. They are carbon- they will take it.

The tips of these knives BENT the very first time I used them. I have been a Karatedepot.com customer for four years. I called customer service and was told, Yes, the tips of these knives will bend. You can send them back, but you probably won't get a refund. They essentially told me, These are cheap knives, so what do you expect?; I explained that it was the FIRST TIME I had used them, but Karatedepot did not seem to care. I am unimpressed, and will look elsewhere for purchases in the future.
