these are great gloves they are pretty cool there not as heavy as i would have liked but they still gat the job done and they even work good for sparring(even though you cant grapple as good)

Not really what u need for heavy bags

I tried these gloves today on a 80lb heavy bad without any hand protection and the comfort is OK but it will hurt your hands a lot when u strike the bag and after 5 minuted of hitting the bag and taking of the gloves, some of my skin was ripped and blood between the knuckles. I don't no how they would preform with the hand wraps but i really would recommend the evergel bag gloves for heavy bags and they feel very comfortable and protect your hands very well.

Knuckle Scraper

I use these gloves on a 70 lb Everlast MMA bag for exercise. While they beat the gloves that came with the bag, they have the same draw back - namely the 2nd knuckles of my hand get beat up. I think the glove slides back with each punch, so the open finger design opens up the fingers to a bit more abrasion. I use 180 wraps and haven't had any problem with the padding up at the first knuckles, but I have to tape up each of my fingers at the 2nd knuckle before my workout, if only to soak up the blood.

I personally use these: bx-gl-228. I doubt they are the best, but the price is reasonable and the quality is good.

Blame MMA

Throw a rock in the air and, chances are, it will land on a pair of weird, open-finger-design fighting/sparring/bag gloves. You can't find decent bag gloves in a sports store anymore. Every kid wants to look like Randy Couture, while punching his water-base bag.
I tried them and stoped immediately: they are so hard on my hands - I wouldn't punch Oprah's tit while wearing them!

Use some gloves.

So I tried these things on, and these are very hard on your hands. No type of padding for the inside of the glove. I would highly recommend just getting some regular bag gloves

Not for the Heavy Bag

I originally bought these for the heavy bag but after a few intense workouts,I switched to a full glove and only use these for the speed bag. I do not recommend them for the heavy bag. Not enough protection.

The gloves fit well and dry fast They are padded perfectly and have a good feel hitting the heavy bag. The one negative is that the loops for your fingers dig a little into your skin when you are punching hard.

Didn't dig on these.

I found these gloves to be somewhat awkward and you need wraps if you want to avoid scraping the skin off your knuckles when throwing hooks (which pretty much kills the purpose of bag gloves). I still don't understand why they have an open finger design - they're bag gloves.

Finally - they shift when you strike which not only causes knuckle-scraping but also makes throwing non-boxing strikes (ridge hands in particular) fairly uncomfortable

That is more on your hands, wrists, arms, form, etc.. They do not offer the protection of a full boxing glove, obviously, but in short, yes, they will be fine for any size heavybag.

not enough protection for heavy bags

These are wierd little gloves. They have an open finger design, like MMA grappling gloves, but they are advertised as heavy bag gloves. When I used them for hitting the heavy bag they felt this and didnt offer me enough padding. I eneded up having to stop halfway through the workout.

Yes I think these are better for lighter bag workouts that are combined with other MMA activities such as grappling or speed bag training. Your point about not overtraining the heavy bag with these gloves is very well made though.

I have tried a bunch of different gloves over the years, while these aren't the best, they are pretty good. The wrist wrap feature is cool. IF you wear wrpas, then these gloves provide extra protection, if you dont, these thes gloves are like wearing wraps and gloves. The padding is a little thin, but I haven't been hurt or anything. These gloves are good for anyone.
