Great Mouthguard
The best double mouthguard I have used. Follow the directions exactly on fitting and everything works great.

Hi grandma. I would recommend getting the youth sized clear mouthguard here, on this page. Alternatively, you can go here:
pr-mo-01
. There are clear options there as well, but you may have to trim the mouthguard down for the youngster.

Braces
I'm twelve but I can not fit youth sized mouth guards. I need a mouth guard to fit over my top and bottom braces without being too loose, protruding, and hurting my gums. Is this the one, or should I try to get a mouth guard specifically for braces covering?

Hey Vivi. I know we have this guard:
pr-mo-141
which is particularly for braces, but unfortunately it doesn't cover the bottom teeth as well. The brainpad guard (Above) is a great double layer guard but isn't particularly for braces.
That being the case, it could be hit or miss on how well it suits you.
I know of one guard that we don't carry that might suit your needs as well: http://www.amazon.com/Shock-Doctor-Double-Strapless-Mouthguard/dp/B0028R2XDK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314732475&sr=8-1.
So consider those options and let me know if you need any more tips!

Good Product
Purchased as an alternative to Shock doctor, for adult size teen with upper and lower braces. The breathing holes are larger than Shock Doctor, which has allowed him to wear it more often. I recommend.

Was the shock doctor mouth guard he had the 'Shock Doctor Mouth Gurad For Braces'? Because I am debating whether to get that one or the Brain Pad Pro Plus.

Mouth Guard - 6 year old
I need a good mouth guard that isn't very obtrusive for a 6 year old boy. Would this be too large for his mouth? Any recommendations for one that would provide double protection? Is a double recommended over a single? Is any mouth guard accepted in competition or would they specifiy single over double?

Hey Denise. As far as I know, most competitions don't require double or single, so long as you are wearing a mouthguard of some variety.
Since the brainpad comes in youth sizes, I think you could buy with confidence here. Mouthguards take some getting used to, but the fit should be good for him.

I think they would like this model:
pr-mo-183
. It is cut to be unobtrusive and won't ride high on their gums.

I suggest this to all instructors. You can talk and teach with your mouth guard in.It also allows your instructor to hear you over traditonal mouth guards. So no extra push ups!

If they are used to the feel of full mouthgaurds go with adult. If they are not, start at youth and work up to adult.

I bought four of these, one for each member of my family. We all started Tae Kwon Do and do sparring. I noticed that a lot of the other mouth guards made it difficult to breath and keep in your mouth. This one allows me to breath with my teeth clenched if I want.

Good mouth piece, but...
It's too bulky. I ordered the LoPro+Plus the day I received the Pro+Plus. The LoPro was a much better fit. I am a lot happier with it.
