Crazy Heavy, Probably Too Much for a Kid
Let's be clear—this is a solid, no-frills bo at a reasonable price. That said, I'm writing this review to warn everyone that while the pictures on the website make it seem roughly in line with the others, it's literally the heaviest bo I've ever held. I'm no expert, so maybe our school just favors a lighter staff, but I was genuinely shocked by how big and heavy it was out of the package.
So if you're buying this for a child, this isn't the one for you. I bought this for my 8 y.o. daughter, who is VERY strong for her ago, and it's way too heavy for her.
Also, I saw someone post in the Q&A asking what type of wood it is. A sticker on mine says that it's Red Oak.

How Heavy is the Staff exactly
An estimate would do to, but how heavy is the staff? Would it be good for tricks such as twirling and tossing (or something like that)?

This bo is going to be on the bulkier side. I think the other red oak staff you were looking at would suit your needs better.

Don't believe the hype
This may be my first bow, but I think its awesome. I've hit targets (trees) pretty hard with it and it holds strong. I don't know what kind of Bo people are used to, but I don't think its too heavy. I'm 5'10" and 145 to give you an idea of how skinny I am too. I use it for ninjutsu so other martial arts might require light bo's. However, it serves our purposes very well.

I like this bo a lot. It was heavier than I expected, but that's good for me to help strengthen my muscles while using it. Certainly no quick maneuvering with it, but definitely worth the price.

The manufacturer hasn't really specified, just utilizing hard wood.

Yes this should be a fine choice. The material is durable and the bo is hefty enough to train the muscles used in bo manipulation.

Hey Super Spider. Congrats on the new, healthy hobby! I would recommend the hardwood bo, either straight or tapered. tapered would be a little lighter to handle, while straight would get stuck in mud and dirt a little less easily. They can be found here:
wp-bo-03
,
wp-bo-04
. Also, you might consider using the 5 foot version as a walking stick, but that's your call!

Hi Leo. Yes this bo would function fine as a starter bo. It's got good durability without being highly expensive.

Is this Bo easy to mess around with? I'm a beginner but I'm very flashy and I love to show off. I want a Bo that looks cool but is easy to maneuver but is strong enough to make contact because I still want to use it to fight with. What would be a good Bo for me?

If you want to be able to make contact, this bo is a fine choice. It will be a little slower for spinning techniques than say, this bo:

Both are good stacii, just a little different. This bo is much stiffer, and will provide less flexibility. A bo like this can deliver more impact and is more durable for contact, but the rattan bo is extremely fast and easy to use.

This bo can be used for those things, but it might not be as light as you are used to. For very fast spinning and tournament style techniques you might want something more like this:

Vibration
When you use the Black Hardwood Bo & you hit it against your body, how much does it vibrate? I know you want a staff that isn't extremely hard & can vibrate in order to absorb some of the shock. Thank you for your answer.

Hi Rizzo. This bo will provide some vibration to disperse impact, but not a lot. Tapered bo's and bo's made of softer wood (like rattan) may be what you're looking for if you have a particular need to avoid impact.
When it comes to bo training, your body will get some bumps and bruises as it acclimates to the impacts. You'll eventually get used to it though and the vibration will be less of a need.

Great staff but...
I don't like the weight. It's kind of in between being strong enough to with stand some punishment, and being light enough for competitions. After using tapered bo staffs for forms I regretted buying this. But it is great for practicing strikes, and more importantly conditioning the body for using those strikes.

Good for training
I enjoyed training with this staff, but I was only able to do demonstrations. With full contact with a dummy, the staff broke into 2 pieces after the first strike. The wood did not even show signs it was about to give way, it just snapped. It was a good weight though, and was fun while it lasted. Obviously I will not be using hardwood staffs for full contact again.
