Goodn'
I bought several of these a couple years ago so I've had plenty of time to observe their wear. For the price I paid for them I think they are perfect. I would however like to advise other instructors to not intentionally hit anybody with the knives as they will become feeble after rough usage. And also the outer layer of paint will easily rub off so for the buyers sake, buff the knife gently with a rag before putting them up for sale/practice.

Good Knives
These are absolutely fantastic for the price. Durable, flexible, and safe. The blade bends safely when you stab someone with it. These knives have the potential to leave a bruise, but that's about the extent of the danger. Even though the edge of the blade was still very dull and safe, I still used a metal file to soften it just a little bit more. The paint comes off a little easily from the blade, but it doesn't affect performance in any way. You really can't go wrong for the price on these. Strongly recommended!

For that price why not!
All rubber things are somewhat flexible and not realistic in that they bend and give but that is what makes them safe to practice with. This is stiff enough to work the techniques with but it does bend if you get jabbed with it. I have also used mine for several years without it breaking.

A great value for the price, I use these in training for the Marines to knife fight and disarm attackers. They are sturdy enough that they've never broken and soft enough that nobody has ever been seriously hurt. The paint on the blade has a tendency to wear off after prolonged use but they still serve their purpose for training... great fun to practice with.

This rubber knife is good for teaching and learning knife disarming techniques, I used these a number of times in my first year of shotokan karate. There is little chance of harming anyone with these. They are not overly flexible yet not too sturdy. They do break quite easily - the 'blade' breaks away from the handle after extensive use.

This knife is perfect for beginner practice, the parents look more calm too! The knife does have a sharp tip (to annoy and bruise someone). Great price!

Hi Ruth. This practice knife has some good heft to it, with the handle definitely more weighted than the blade area. The only thing is that these were not specifically designed to tolerate high speed impact against a throwing board, so you may cause cracking at the base of the blade after awhile.

Training Knife
Wish the knive was a little studier. That said, I'm sure that the attys had something to say about the lack of rigidity of the blade. Word to the wise, "chalk" the blade...saves a ton of disagreement. I use the blade to show my students the correct distance for an adequate armed response. The prop works well and has stood up well to to training. For the price a VERY good training weapon.

Great Rubber Demo Knife
I have used a few of these often over the last few years when teaching my students self defense scenarios against a knife. They work very well. They bend just the right amount, yet are durable enough that I have yet had to replace one of the first four I bought. Three years running, they are a great demo knife for classes.

Good weight
Been practicing with it for a month or so. You feel it when you mess up the evasion or block. Bends just enough. Worried however that it might break at the handle after a few years.

Hey clubpage. These are good quality items, especially considering the price. I use them myself for self defense training. They are not floppy and only bend when hitting something.
They do have one fault - if you bend them enough they start to crack where the handle meets the blade, so if you are repeatedly striking hard objects you'll eventually break it. That being said, considering the price, you get your money's worth and then some.

Not Bad
Pretty much a costume accessory, but not bad for training. What I like is that this bends on a stab unlike the more expensive trainers that don't give.

Nice - especially for the price
I got these for training students who are new to knife work and disarming techniques as they tend to stab each other a lot. They are nice and flexible so there's NO chance of injury. The rubber is thick and strong and looks like it will last a while. The only thing I'd like improved would be for the blade to be a little more rigid -- at least for half the length. Knife disarming techniques that apply pressure to the blade can be difficult to work on with these knives because they are so flexible. Otherwise, extremely nice.

great practice knife
paint comes off easily.
the edge an tip are particularly distinct but still soft, you have a petty good idea as to whether or not youve been cut or stabbed without actual injury.
paint has strange odor.

Realistic, yet safe
After going through some basic ideas in karate class, I came home and ordered this knife to practice with. Since my wife and I train together, we can both enjoy this. It's just like the one my Sensei used to demonstrate. Maybe he got his here too!
It's great.
Affordable too.

Great for knife defense techniques
We always use these and the only time we had one break was when a kid was bending it in half several times and whipping it back and forth just to see how far it would bend. So yes, they can break, but they usually don't under normal practice. I've used mine for more than 6 years.

best knife ever!
these rubber knives are notoriously floppy, but these are made from nice stiff tire rubber! just like the ones I had as a kid. they might leave a bruise if you practice full contact, but how else do you learn? these are better than what I ever could have expected. this is the best knife for the money!

Perfect for the price
While I can't speak to the durability of this knife only having used it for a month, it certainly has done the job well so far at a great price. As mentioned in other reviews, it is hard enough so you know when you get hit but not hard enough to do real damage.

Bought for use with my self defense class, and practice out side of classes. I like how it's just hard enough to know when you get hit, but not hard enough to get injured. Has a bit of an edge on the blade, but not enough to actually cut you. Better than the ones that we have at my martial arts school.

These knives were just want I needed. I ordered two and now my husband and I can practice knife disarms, takedowns, etc at home. They're sturdy and flexible. They do seem like they might break off were the blade meets the handle after a while but we'll see how long it takes. For the price if they last six months I'll be happy.

Great for training, one down side
The best knife for training, especially because of the price. The only down side is that the silver paint on the blade peels off. Otherwise, it bends nice but does not break from wear and tear.
