That's a good question Andy. I'm not a salesman for Nippon but I will say they have an exceptional attention to detail. They spare no expense in terms of material quality, proper fit, and smaller matters like kanji, reinforcements, etc.

I haven't experienced this gi personally and I wouldn't claim to know if it is truly worth the price. However, the reputation suggests that it is.
