Will this item become available for purchase? I have a 6 year old that is interested in this set. He has no experience with nunchucks whatsoever. I see that this set has great reviews for beginners or younger children.

Very pleased
I ordered these for my son who has an interest in learning how to use real Nunchucks. The order was placed and we received them in a few days. It was shocking how fast they came. My son was very pleased with them. We will purchase from this site again.

I ordered a practice pair of nunchucks for my nine year old grandson. They're rubber coated so he can practice without hurting himself or others. They arrived in a few days. He's very happy!

These particular nunchaku are for young children, keep that in mind. Since you are here typing I'm guessing you might want something a little more regular in size and durability.
These nunchaku right here:
wp-nu-30
are a good size and sfe for beginners. Understand though that if you go wailing on things with them they will break.
Once you get used to using the foam kind you can upgrade to something more substantial and durable, like these:
wp-nu-05
.

for beginers
when i got these, i thought that they wouldn't break. whell...i was wrong the second time i hit something with them they broke!!! so i just took the rubber things off and covered it all of tape. so i recommend these.... well for beginners anyway.

Hey Brandon. These foam padded, ball-bearing driven nunchaku are good for beginners. Foam with rope are also a fine choice.
Best of luck in your training and come see us again when you need a wooden pair!

nice to learn with, the metal parts will hurt a little if you mess up, but still a very nice set for the price.

Nunchaku are technically illegal to own in california, even for a private collection. Foam nunchaku are technically under that jurisdiction.

I bought an 8-inch for my oldest son (6 year old) and a 12-inch for myself. We've had them about a week and have both picked them up regularly to do some practicing. I've been working mostly on wrist-rolls while my son is practicing more strikes and 8 patterns (or just goofing off showing "how it's done" for his friends). Both Nunchaku sets are built using identical materials and they feel and look really nice. I've put both sets on the wall for display when not practicing.
The 8-inch set is of course too small for me (about 6ft, 225lbs) but they are a great fit for my son and seemingly would be for years. I am certain that I could not do the practice I do if I was using hard-wood. I lose them and hit things all the time. With these, I don't need to worry about big THUMPS that potentially could wake up kids if I practice while they are in bed. The only time it hurts a little is when the metal attachment hit my foot. They are definitely heavy enough for all kinds of tricks and generate a satisfying "woosh" if you put power behind it. They are holding up really nice so far and the ball-bearings are really smooth.
My only problem is that I did not order a set for my youngest son as well. I decided to try them out because of the positive reviews but was still concerned about the quality. Turns out that fear was was unfounded. Another youth set + a set of hard-wood Nunchucks is already in the mail.
Very happy with the purchase.

i have always liked nunchaku and i wanted to get a very good, high quality pair. I saw these and read the reviews and details and feel in love. These nunchaku are of very good quality and are safe to use for practice. I hope you will enjoy these nuchaku as much as i have!

really really good, but too short
This is a really good product. I just starting using nunchaku, although I wish there was a 12'' version and the chain was a little longer they are still pretty good, I let my nephew use them to since the foam keeps it safe.

Very light and durable...
This practice weapon is very light and durable. I purposely hit myself on my head, arms, legs, and stomach and barely felt anything. Now of course it may hurt when you get hit with full force and speed, but obviously not as much as a metal or wooden nunchaku. Why only 3 stars? Well, it could have been a bit heavier. That's just my personal preference though. It also could have been a little safer, but it was still pretty safe. I recommend this to those who have never used the nunchaku before and wish to become better at the techniques. Unless you don't mind some bruises, this is not to be used to full contact spar with anyone.

The other reviewers were right.
I bought the bigger version of these nunchucks from my taekwondo place after I saw them on this site. And I must say, these are a good value. The ball bearings on the nunchucks work very well. Also the foam makes the nunchucks much less dangerous (I have hit myself in the head and it doesn't hurt at all). But like the other reviewers said, the foam on the nunchucks eventually slide off and the dragon design on the nunchucks started fading on my hand after the first practice. However these nunchucks are pretty, safe, and fun to use but like most weapons, they won't stay functional forever. (But that's no problem because they are so cheap and the nunchucks cases actually cost more than the nunchucks)

Great for beginners
I ordered these nun chucks for my 11 year old son who is just starting out with karate and now he is learning to use weapons, These nunchucks seem to be perfect for a beginner, the rubber makes them softer for someone who is learning how to use nunchuck.

Very nice for small kids
These youth ball bearing rubber nunchucks are very nice for small kids (6 & under). We have a pair of the corded version also, but the ball bearing version is much more like the ones the instructor has, and like what the older kids use. They are light weight, so it's easy for my youngest to manipulate. Note, that these nunchucks are quite short. Bigger kids won't be able to easily catch and release from the armpit.

Definitely for the smaller ones.
These nunchucks are a great training aid for kids. They are an exact replica of the normal sized foam-padded, just shrank down. What I really like that the makers did when they constructed these was considered the chain length for littler people. There are only 3 chain-links, which is perfect for small kids. I keep referring to small kids because these wouldn't be suited for anyone older than about 6 or 7 years old. My daughter is 6 and just started her weapons training and these look like they were custom made for her.

youth nunchucks
I like the nunchucks except that the chain is to short even for the smallest of hands.
